Caledonia State Park
Caledonia State Park encompasses 1,125 acres in the scenic South Mountain region along US Route 30 between Chambersburg and Gettysburg. The park preserves the site of Caledonia Iron Furnace, established by abolitionist Thaddeus Stevens in 1837 and burned by Confederate troops in 1863. Today, visitors enjoy 10 miles of hiking trails including a section of the Appalachian Trail, a swimming pool, golf course, and the renowned Totem Pole Playhouse summer theater. The park offers camping, fishing in Conococheague Creek, and connections to the extensive Michaux State Forest trail system.

Directions
Caledonia State Park is located on US Route 30 (Lincoln Highway) midway between Chambersburg and Gettysburg. From I-81, take Exit 10 (Fayetteville) and follow PA Route 997 south to US Route 30, then east for 3 miles to the park. From Gettysburg, take US Route 30 west for approximately 10 miles. The park entrance is well-marked on Route 30. GPS users should use: 40 Rocky Mountain Road, Fayetteville, PA 17222.
