Lake Macbride is known for great fishing. The 812-acre man-made lake is stocked with bluegill, walleyes, crappie and channel catfish. It's also home to the prized Kentucky spotted bass.
Boat access to the lake is plentiful, with six launching ramps and boat rentals available.
The 2,180-acre state park also offers a 60-site campground with shady settings near the lake. A concession, beach and boat rental shop is open in the summer.
Five multi-use trails course around the lake and weave through the surrounding woodlands. Shorebirds and waterfowl are frequent visitors.
A five-mile lake trail is popular with bicyclists. During the winter months, cross-country skiers and snowmobilers enjoy the routes.
The southern section of the park includes a frisbee golf course and a prairie.
