Roper Lake State Park

After a long day of driving or hiking, Roper's natural hot spring is invigorating. Roper Lake State Park boasts desert vegetation, a peaceful lake and views of nearby Mount Graham.

Motor boats are not permitted on this quiet and remote lake.

Birding, hiking, fishing and camping also are popular activities. Some campsites and picnic tables are wheelchair-accessible.

The lake has catfish, bass, bluegill, crappie, red ear, and is stocked with trout in winter.

The park abuts an outstanding wilderness area with Mount Graham as the centerpiece. This "sky island" is a mountain that appears to burst out of the desert.

The hot tub is a major attraction at Roper Lake State Park.
